Rabbi Renée Feller: Weddings, Traditional, Interfaith, Non-denominational

How to create your ceremony:

I have deep respect for peoples' uniqueness, therefore, in helping them to plan the most important day of their life I seek to create a ceremony for the bride and groom that truly honors and expresses who they are. I spend as much time with them as needed to accomplish this.

I encourage them to participate in the ceremony as much or as little as they feel comfortable with. For example they may write their own vows, read a poem to each other, or tell each other why they selected each other as a life partner.

I like to invite family members and friends to participate during the ceremony, so that they feel part of the whole. I like to create an open and spiritual atmosphere.

For couples who are interested in traditional ceremonies, I include sacred texts, prayers and rituals of the religion.

If it is an interfaith couple I acknowledge and honor both faiths, cultures and traditions. I can officiate either alone for all faiths, or if the bridal couple requests I can officiate with a clergy person of any religious persuasion. Whether with a priest, reverend or pastor, we participate equally in performing the ceremony.

For those who wish to depart from tradition I participate with them in originating a unique and personal ceremony, geared to their special wishes whether the ceremony be interfaith or specific to one religion.

And in the future I can help you celebrate the baby naming

Regardless which type of ceremony is chosen an atmosphere of spirituality will always prevail. My approach to creating each ceremony is one of open-mindedness.

I have officiated weddings in many locations; in New York Landmark Church, at the Plaza hotel, the Waldorf Astoria, at Central Park, on the Hudson shore line, in private estate in the woods, on cruise ships, in photography studios, in museums, at the Academy of Sciences, at the St. Paul's Chapel-Columbia University, the Cornell University-Ithaca, The Castle in Tarrytown-NY, The Oheka Castle in Long Island-NY and also the Chateau d'Esclimont in France, Süllberg - Hamburg in Germany, Cuernevaca in Mexico and Four Seasons Hotel in Punta Mita, Mexico.
